Source: DataUSA, The Count 3.0.
And that's just the data for women. This discrepancy not only raises important questions about the authenticity of depictions of gender on some of our nation's largest stages in the 61% of new productions and 84% of revivals in which women writers played no part. But it also highlights an enormous opportunity: a vast pool of untapped composing and writing talent the country has yet to meet. That's where we come in.
