About the Show

Part theater, part animated film, this new historical docudrama follows four woman artists at Walt Disney Studios in the 1930s and beyond. Relegated to a department informally known as the “the Nunnery,” they share their experiences working in a male-dominated industry in the shadow of global conflict and labor uprise.

Written by Danielle E. Moore (Audrey: The New Musical), Ink & Paint premiered with Strongbox Theater in July 2022, and will debut Off-Broadway as part of Emerging Artist's New Work Series in March 2023.

About the New Work Series

A New York Times Critics' Pick, Emerging Artists Theatre's New Works Series (also known as Spark Theatre Festival) is celebrating 30 years of focusing on new works, new talents, and new voices. Since its inception, numerous musicals, plays, solo-shows and dance pieces that were workshopped at the series have gone on to have full productions at the Edinburgh Fringe, NYMF, FringeNYC & Encores, Off-Broadway, as well as National and International productions. The series was recently named one of Time Out New York's Best Things to Do in NYC This Week.
